A research library is a library which
contains an in-depth collection of material on one or several subjects.
A research library will generally include primary sources as well as
secondary sources. Large university libraries are considered research
libraries, and often contain many specialized branch research libraries.
Research libraries can be either reference libraries, which do not lend
their holdings, or lending libraries, which do lend all or some of their
holdings. Some extremely large or traditional research libraries are
entirely reference in this sense, lending none of their material; most
academic research libraries, at least in the U.S., now lend books, but
not periodicals or other material.
Regarding our Rare Parts Research
Library we have a large library of classic & antique car references
covering most American made parts from 1902 -1979. See our library page
for details on some of these rare reference sources. When searching for
a rare part the more information you have e.g. part numbers, interchange
data, etc., the greater chance you will have in finding it. For a small
charge we will research any part you need providing as much information
as our reference materials have and any contacts we have that may be
able to provide you more information e.g. car clubs etc. Only $11.99.
